Imago Dei Missions 2024 Scholarship & Guidelines

Congratulations on reaching this milestone in your academic journey! We understand the unique challenges you may have faced, and we are committed to supporting your pursuit of higher education. This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to graduating high school seniors who are foster, adopted, kinship, or guardianship children and who are dedicated to furthering their education at a post-secondary institution. The awarded funds will be paid directly to the college or university of the recipient’s choice to assist with tuition and other educational expenses.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be a graduating high school senior in the year 2024.
  2. Be a foster, adopted, kinship, or guardianship child.
  3. Have applied to or been accepted into a post-secondary educational institution (e.g., college, university, technical school).
  4. Demonstrate academic achievement, leadership potential, and a commitment to their community, church or extracurricular activities.

 

Application Requirements:

  1. Completed Application Form: Applicants must fill out all sections of the scholarship application form accurately and completely.
  2. Personal Statement: Write a personal statement (500-800 words) addressing the following:
    • Your educational and career goals.
    • How being a foster, adopted, kinship, or guardianship child has influenced your life and academic journey.
    • Any challenges you have overcome and how they have shaped you.
    • Why you are deserving of this scholarship and how it will help you achieve your goals.
  3. Letters of Recommendation: Provide at least two letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to your character, academic abilities, and potential for success in higher education. These may include teachers, counselors, mentors, pastors or employers.
  4. High School Transcript: Submit an official high school transcript demonstrating academic achievement.
  5. Proof of Acceptance: Provide documentation of acceptance to a post-secondary educational institution (if available).

 

Submission Instructions:

  • All application materials must be submitted by the specified deadline.
  • Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

 

Selection Process:

  • A scholarship committee will review all complete applications and select a recipient based on eligibility criteria, academic merit, personal statement and letters of recommendation.
  • Recipients will be notified via phone within a specified timeframe.

 

Deadline:

  • The deadline for submitting scholarship applications is May 28, 2024.
